The router cover provides good shielding against the radiation from the router. The cover stops most of the WiFi waves sent from the box to the computer.
The cover reduces radiation, but does not completely eliminate it. So the Wifi still works.
A router is often too strong, much more than is necessary. The cover is used for this. During the day you are better protected by the cover and for the night we advise to turn off the WiFi.
